A regular provider of statistical and empirical information on all things insurance related, Gerlach is a regular at workers’ comp rate hearings, where he has argued against the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California's recommended rate increases. Mark honed his statistical analysis expertise working for the California Department of Insurance and Kemper Insurance Group. In addition to representing CAAA at rate hearings, he also speaks on behalf of injured workers at meetings of the Commission on Health, Safety and Workers’ Compensation and as an expert witness in workers’ comp trials.
