Florida rep files presumption bill for safety employees

A Port Orange, Florida police sergeant died in early August after contracting COVID-19. His widow filed for death benefits through a workers’ compensation claim with the city and its insurer, but six days after his death, that claim was denied, as it could not be proven he contracted COVID-19 on the job. A Florida House representative has filed a bill that would flip the burden of proof: Instead of public safety or emergency rescue employees or their families having to prove they contracted COVID-19 on the job, it would be up to their employers to show they didn’t get sick at work. Colorado Amazon employees raise safety concerns

Former and current Colorado Amazon employees are calling for action and raising serious safety concerns regarding a lack of training and high demand at the company’s fulfillment centers. Wyoming: Casper city employees can get $250 under new vaccination incentive program

Casper, Wyoming city employees can get $250 for getting their coronavirus vaccine under a new voluntary vaccine incentive program. The money is available to all city employees, including full-time, part-time, police and fire-EMS employees. Supporters say more vaccinated employees means less people out from work and therefore fewer disruptions to city business. Casper Star Tribune
