California: Merced woman arraigned on workers’ comp fraud charges

A 54-year-old a former nutrition assistant at the Merced Community Action Agency was arraigned Thursday on four counts of insurance fraud at the Merced County Superior Courthouse, according to a California Department of Insurance news release, for allegedly misrepresenting the extent of prior lower back injuries in an attempt to improperly receive about $7,000 in workers’ compensation. California: Simi Valley contractor sentenced for workers’ comp fraud

After pleading guilty in December to multiple counts of insurance and unemployment fraud, a Simi Valley contractor was sentenced last week to 24 months of formal probation and $170,875 in restitution for workers’ compensation fraud, the Ventura County District Attorney’s office has announced.
