Florida: County denies benefits to firefighter diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer
A Polk County, Florida firefighter and paramedic who served for six years and has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer has been denied workers’ compensation twice. She says the reason is she was diagnosed prior to a certain date in 2019 and that her disease is personal in nature. WFTS (Tampa)

Canada: British Columbia employer knowingly exposed employees to asbestos
Authorities say the owner of a Surrey, British Columbia owned of a drywall recycling company knowingly exposing employees to asbestos without their knowledge, and defied a stop-work order from WorkSafeBC after a prevention officer inspected the business and found asbestos. Western Standard
