New York bill to expand protections for volunteer firemen on way to governor

A bill intended to ensure more volunteer firemen qualify for disability and death benefits has passed the New York Assembly and the Senate, and is on its way to the governor. The bill provides that volunteer firemen who suffer a vascular rupture related to official duties and activities that causes death or disability are covered under the Volunteer Firefighter’s Benefits Law. Three nominated for Massachusetts workers’ comp board

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has nominated three people as administrative judges at the state’s the Industrial Accidents Board, the agency that oversees workers’ compensation disputes, his office announced Friday.
