Publius Explains SB 1145 Reality
SB 1145 by Senator Mike Machado and State Fund Board chair Jeannie Cain, who is also executive vice president of the California Chamber of Commerce, does a lot of things. One of the things it does not do is hold State Fund to reasonable standards of transparency and accountability. SB 1145 was the subject of the now famous “Dancing Jeannie” parody which showed our version of the tap dance Cain did with the Senator to pull this together and trick the legislature (see it in the story about on the WCE home page).
