Pennsylvania fines insurer over workers’ compensation filing
The Pennsylvania Insurance Department has fined a Pittsburgh-based insurer $145,000 for a filing error involving a former subsidiary that resulted in companies being overcharged on workers’ compensation premiums. Family charged with using man’s workers’ comp in casino, salons
Police say $60,000 in fundraiser money and workers’ compensation meant for a Pennsylvania man, who was critically injured after falling off a garbage truck more than a year ago, was stolen by the man’s family. Defamation trial delayed due to near doubling of damages
A defamation suit against a trucking company has been delayed because the estimate of lost wages nearly doubled. The plaintiff claims the company improperly terminated him due to a second defendant’s assertion that the plaintiff had filed a false workers’ compensation claim.
