New Report on Missouri’s Second Injury Fund Reaches Similar Conclusions
Just a few months after criticizing the Missouri auditor’s analysis of the state’s Second Injury Fund, Gov. Matt Blunt’s administration releases a report that reaches many of the same conclusions—chiefly, that the fund cannot remain solvent without increasing costs for employers. Blunt and other Republicans previously had accused State Auditor Susan Montee, a Democrat whose husband is an applicants’ attorney, of ignoring the effect of increased payouts from the fund.
