Ohio contractor receives prison time following employee’s fatal fall
An Akron, Ohio roofing contractor has been sentenced to three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter an employee fell and died in November 2017. The employee had not had the proper fall protection, according to Fed-OSHA. The contractor also pleaded guilty to workers’ compensation fraud earlier this summer and has been ordered to pay more than $303,000 in restitution to the Ohio Bureau of’ Compensation.
