Vermont businesses to see decrease in workers’ comp rates for sixth year

Effective April 1, 2022, Vermont businesses will see another rate decrease in workers’ compensation insurance in 2022, the sixth straight year rates have decreased, Governor Phil Scott and the Department of Financial Regulation commissioner have announced. Florida contractor pleads guilty to workers’ comp fraud

The 24-year-old owner of a Tampa construction company has pleaded guilty to claiming he had adequate worker’s compensation coverage for his employees, and faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison. The company had agreements with contractors and subcontractors to use his employees at construction sites, but they were often illegally working for and under the daily supervision and direction of the contractors. South Dakota legislature considering workers’ comp bill
