Inspired by Acrobat, Vegas Church Group Pushes Performers’ Bill
A Las Vegas youth church group is behind a bill intended to change a Nevada law that exempts promoters of theatrical performances from providing workers’ compensation for players. The group is following up on the last wishes of a Kenyan-born, uninsured 28-year-old acrobat who died in 2004 after falling from the top of a five-man pyramid and breaking his neck.
