First Report Data Show Effects of 1993 Benefit Hikes

SAN FRANCISCO -- First report data from the 1996 policy year provided by the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau indicates that aggregate incurred workers' comp benefit costs for the state were $3.4 billion. That's up from $3.1 billion in 1995.Incurred benefit costs have risen between 1994 and 1996, the most recent year available from the Bureau, based on first report data.
