The Third District Court of Appeal yesterday published an opinion stating that late utilization review reports are not admissible as evidence by insurers and that utilization review is not mandatory for every treatment. The opinion was published after the court denied petitions to review two Workers' Compensation Appeals Board cases that were consolidated because they dealt with the same players: applicant Brice Sandhagen and State Compensation Insurance Fund.
