Massachusetts Rating Bureau Seeks 31.7% Cut in W/Comp Rates

BOSTON -- Workers' comp insurance rates could be coming down significantly for a number of employment classifications in Massachusetts as the state's rating bureau, an arm of the Division of Insurance, has filed for an average 31.7 percent rate cut.A spokesperson for the bureau said the proposed rate cut might not result in decreases in the premiums employers pay, as they may already be the beneficiaries of rate discounts offered by their workers' comp carriers.
