Companies Gobble up Competitors and Players Change

SAN FRANCISCO -- As reflected in the Executive's list of the state's top 50 workers' comp carriers there is major jockeying in the ranks of workers' comp insurers in California.While some companies that had phenomenal growth can attribute it to recent acquisitions, others grew their premiums by aggressively pricing their product. Others, like American International Group, started paring back their involvement in the California marketplace.Most significantly, Superior Pacific Group jumped from being
