Missouri Workers’ Comp Law Excludes Injured Workers

In what appears to be a case of honest but dreadful drafting, the "Show Me" state's latest workers' comp law makes it nearly impossible for injured workers to qualify for benefits. Governor Matt Blunt is considering whether to expand a September special session to deal with the drafting error. The law is supposed to take effect Aug. 28.The problem appears to have occurred when legislative staffers compiling language from the latest draft forgot to delete language from an earlier draft.
